Avon Becomes the First European Fire Fleet to Equip Digital Alerting

HAAS Alert, a company with the largest commercially deployed V2X safety network powered by its Safety Cloud® digital alerting platform is pleased to announce that Avon Fire & Rescue Service has become the first fire and rescue service in Europe to equip its fleet with digital alerting. This initial partnership is the first step in exploring a long-lasting relationship together.

HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud platform enables real-time alerting between emergency vehicles and consumer vehicles for safer and smarter roads. The company expanded Safety Cloud’s digital alerting coverage to Europe in November of 2023. This news comes on the heels of South East Coast Ambulance Service becoming the first ambulance fleet in Europe to be equipped with digital alerting.

Thanks to this activation, Avon Fire & Rescue Service will be immediately able to send out notifications to drivers through Waze and other leading navigation apps. This is an important step forward in protecting the public and reducing response time for emergency responders.

“We are all about leveraging the latest tools at our disposal to reduce response time,” said Matt Derrick, Head of Transport and Technical Services at Avon Fire & Rescue Services. “We’re thrilled to pave the way for fire and rescue services in Europe.”

The collaboration with Avon Fire & Rescue Service represents HAAS Alert’s commitment to continue to expand the Safety Cloud network in Europe. Digital alerting is more effective when more departments and agencies are equipped. HAAS Alert is excited to welcome more European emergency fleets in the immediate future.

“HAAS Alert is so impressed with Avon Fire & Rescue Service’s commitment to protecting the community and its crew members,” says Gareth Evans, European Director of Strategy and Business Development of HAAS Alert. “Like with our activation with South East Coast Ambulance Service, we hope this initial partnership will also bring together other services, road authorities, and councils in South West England in road safety efforts.”
