Invitation to apply: Independent Consultant for Intelligent Transport Systems UK
Following a period of successful growth, ITS UK is looking for consultancy support to take the organisation to the next level. We are looking for an independent consultant to provide expertise and guidance to the ITS UK Team, Board and Membership and to increase the organisation’s capabilities. This role is suited to an individual consultant with a good understanding of the ITS and intelligent mobility sector.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who can (a) provide greater expertise and experience to support the ITS UK membership and (b) help the ITS UK team in reaching out to new markets and potential members within the intelligent mobility space. Typical role responsibilities/expectations will include:
- Advising on and informing the planning and delivery of ITS UK’s events programme, including our flagship Annual Conference, Big ITS Conversation, Parliamentary Reception and 15 Forums*. This will require recommending and providing insights to inform the identification and selection of key speakers, topics and issues, and helping corral the sector to ensure these events are a success.
- Advising on key topics for research and thought-leadership that ITS UK should develop on behalf of its membership.
- Speaking and representing ITS UK at key events externally, at trade shows, external events and at meetings.
- Supporting ITS UK in identifying and reaching out to new potential members, and new subsectors within the ITS industry. Advising the ITS UK team and Board on how our technical and subject-matter membership offer can be developed to better cater for these sectors.
- Supporting member requests for sector, subject-matter information, guidance and support, as and when required.
We are looking for an individual who will be able to deliver the following, welcome, but not essential activities:
- Contribute to ITS UK’s Advocacy & Policy work, including the development of White Papers, thought leadership and content that promotes the interests of the sector and makes the case to Government at all levels for investment in ITS.
- Support ITS UK’s engagement overseas, including at trade shows and through our connections with the 30+ ITS Network of Nationals.
- Advise and support the team with technical, commercial and market advice and support.
- Support the development of ITS UK’s standards work, acting as a conduit between key standards committees and ITS UK members.
