Poole, UK, 18 October 2023. Charge point operator ESB Energy has awarded a contract to EVCI service provider Yunex Traffic to maintain a further 50 electric vehicle (EV) chargers in Birmingham and so ensure the chargers’ ongoing reliability and availability. The company will provide an enhanced warranty service including improved response times, and at the end of the warranty period, it will provide a full maintenance and support service for the new Delta chargers.
Already maintaining more than 80 chargers from a number of manufacturers across Birmingham for ESB Energy, Yunex Traffic’s maintenance teams are now also taking responsibility for both warranty support and then corrective and preventative maintenance of 50 new chargers, as well as any repair works that may be required. This work will ensure high levels of charger availability across the city, giving drivers confidence in both the accessibility and reliability of the rapidly growing charger network.
Wilke Reints, Managing Director of Yunex Traffic in the UK, said: “It is crucial that rapid charger networks are available and accessible to drivers, and that any issues are resolved quickly. We have the capabilities, expertise and presence to be the trusted EVCI Service Provider to CPOs and EV charger manufacturers in the UK, supporting customers with a range of service and support capabilities.
“As the EV charger network continues to grow, the support of our technical and service engineers is vital in making sure that the infrastructure operates at optimum levels of performance to meet the rapidly increasing demand.”
John Byrne, Head of EV Solutions at ESB Energy, said: “We are delighted to work with Yunex Traffic to ensure our chargers are even more reliable and available for EV drivers across Birmingham.
“We are continuing to work closely with Birmingham City Council to provide a comprehensive public charging network for electric vehicle drivers throughout the city, consisting of 197 fast and rapid chargers which equates to 394 charge points, over half of which are already operational.
“We know the huge benefit that EV infrastructure plays in helping build a sustainable future for cities. We look forward to delivering on our continued support of Birmingham and all of its citizens as they transition to low carbon motoring.”
Supporting CPOs across the UK, Yunex Traffic has a nationwide network of experienced engineers who ensure the charger network delivers high levels of availability. Trained to recognised industry standards, this 250-strong team is supported by a 24/7 Service Operations Centre and technical support and engineering teams, all of which are based in the company’s headquarters in Poole, Dorset, providing prompt, reliable and in-country support for UK charge point operators.
