James is a Traffic Signal Engineer working for AtkinsRéalis where I started on an apprenticeship in 2013. I have completed multiple apprenticeships at BTEC, HNC and Degree level in Civil Engineering as well as working for various clients through AtkinsRéalis, including secondments into local authorities that has allowed me to understand various perspectives of the Intelligent Transport Systems industry. In 2022 I took on the role of Early Careers Director with Intelligent Transport Systems UK to use my experience of both the ITS industry and the apprenticeship route to help encourage new members and opportunities for those at the start of their career. This includes looking at how we can utilise and develop skillsets from those already within the industry as well as those outside to help benefit the wider Highways, Technology and Engineering industries.
