ITS UK launches 18th Annual Awards and President’s Dinner

Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK), the voice of the transport technology industry, has launched the 18th Annual Awards and President’s Dinner, the leading national celebration of intelligent transport. The Awards cover the use of technology across transport – covering areas like digitalisation and digital services, sustainability, accessibility, exports and more. This year there are 17 categories celebrating those projects, organisations and individuals who have made a special contribution to the sector.

The Awards will be presented at the ITS UK President’s Dinner on 7 November 2024, hosted by ITS UK’s illustrious President Steven Norris. The Dinner will be held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, a leading conference hotel located in the heart of the Kensington area, and an ideal venue for this national celebration.

Max Sugarman, Chief Executive of Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK), said: “The ITS UK Awards are always a brilliant celebration, showcasing the vital work of transport technology providers, and, as they enter their 18th year, the President’s Dinner and Awards have grown to become a major event for the ITS industry. The Awards provide an opportunity to mark the dedication, innovation, exemplary work and commitment of this sector, which does so much to support both the UK and global transport system. So, if you know of a project, organisation or individual who has made a significant contribution, this is your change to have that work recognised!”

ITS UK has also announced the judging panel for the Awards, which consists of senior industry figures from all transport modes: Eric Sampson CBE, Head Judge & Chair of Judging Panel; Richard Schofield, Banktop Consulting; Kris Beuret OBE; Consultant and Chair of the ITS UK Inclusive Mobility Forum; Anthony Ferguson, Deputy Director, Traffic & Technology, Department for Transport; Alistair Gollop, Founder, ITS Now; Milda Manomaityte, Innovation Director, Railway Industry Association; Michelle Carter, Head of Transport, Innovate UK Business Connect; Frances Williamson, Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Zenzic; Leah Hockley, Editor, Intelligent Transport; and Elliot Shaw, Executive Director of Strategy and Planning, National Highways.

Last year’s awards in 2023 were the biggest yet, with nearly 200 attendees. The Awards recognised transport technology providers from across the sector, with Atkins Jacobs Joint Venture winning Project of the Year, for their Roadside Vehicle Noise Measurement Phase 3 (Noise Camera Trials).

ITS UK Members and public sector bodies are encouraged to put forward nominations for both themselves and those individuals, projects or organisations they think are worthy of recognition, with entries being accepted until 2 September 2024.
