Executive Dinner with Hugh Gillies

Each year, ITS UK organises four dinners, exclusively for our Executive Members, providing them with the opportunity to meet with key decision-makers in the transport sector and to discuss key issues of the day in an intimate setting.

Since March 2016 Hugh Gillies has been part of Transport Scotland’s senior management team with day to day responsibility for the operation and maintenance of Scotland’s trunk road network (TRN) and in delivering the Scottish Government’s road policy objectives. At the dinner, he will discuss his priorities for Scotland’s road network, including the importance of technology in supporting decarbonisation, safety and a more efficient network.

About Hugh Gillies

Hugh has over 30 years’ experience in roads and transportation. Prior to joining Transport Scotland he had a diverse career which took him north and south of the border while working in both the private and public sectors. He is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University, a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Transport Planning Professional and a member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation.
