Parliamentary Dinner on Rural Mobility

21 January, 2025 @ 18:30 - 21:00

Members Only

On 21 January, ITS UK will host a Dinner in Parliament exploring how transport technology can support rural mobility, particularly in the area of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT).

Hosted by Transport Committee member Alex Mayer MP, the dinner will explore:

  • How the transport technology industry addresses better rural mobility;
  • The role of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services, with examples from across the country of how DRT is improving rural connectivity;
  • The importance of integrating transport services more effectively;
  • The role of the upcoming Integrated Transport Strategy; and
  • The role of regulation, including removing VAT on DRT services using smaller vehicles.

The session will bring together policymakers, including MPs and Peers from across Parliament, alongside local authorities, DRT providers and industry leaders.

The Dinner comes following the announcement of the  Transport Select Committee inquiry into buses, which includes specific questions around DRT, smart ticketing and bus innovations.

This roundtable is sponsored by Via Transportation.
