Smart Ticketing Roundtable Summary

On 18 July, ITS UK held a roundtable exploring the smart ticketing market. The event was organised with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS), an Executive Agency of the Cabinet Office and the UK’s largest public procurement organisation.

The roundtable sought to discuss:

  • An overview of the key market trends, such as integrated and account-based ticketing;
  • Discussion on the commercial environment for smart ticketing;
  • What the industry wants to see out of the procurement process – what are the current barriers to deployment and what drives added value.

A summary of the session is provided below.

This event was held as part of a new collaboration to support CCS’s review of the transport technology market sector, the aim of which is to provide central government, arm’s length bodies and the wider public sector with access to improved routes to market.
