Head of Innovation and Technology, Greater Cambridge Partnership
Dan Clarke is the Head of Innovation and Technology for the Greater Cambridge Partnership, bringing extensive experience in automated vehicle (AV) projects. He has been instrumental in developing the business case and strategic deployment plans for AVs in Cambridge. Dan successfully led a consortium to deliver an AV pilot, integrating automated vehicles into the public transport system, and currently leads the Cambridge Connector project, which will deploy four automated buses as part of the city’s public transport network.
In addition to his work with AVs, Dan has implemented several journey planning and travel information projects, which forms the basis of the current Mobility as a Service (MaaS) proposal he is developing for Cambridge. He has also deployed sensor and data infrastructure to enhance the understanding of movement within the city, supporting transport planning and network management. This includes smart signal and crossing trials aimed at optimizing traffic flow and improving pedestrian safety.
