Chief Operating Officer, Transport for London
Glynn is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Transport for London (TfL) & member of the Executive Committee. TfL is the world’s largest integrated transport authority, he is accountable for all rail, bus, strategic roads, river, cable car and active travel modes within London, ensuring the safe, reliable, and effective operation of all services that TfL provide, and for delivering the priorities and objectives set out in the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and TfL Business Plan. Leading approximately 20,000 directly employed colleagues , a budget of over £6bn pa and the operation & maintenance of critical assets & infrastructure, including The Elizabeth Line. Glynn started the COO role in October 2022, having previously worked as the Director of Network Management. During his time in the role, he led the organisation through the COVID pandemic, ensuring services were maintained for critical workers, in addition to delivering TfL’s response to the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and The State Funeral and Lying in State events following the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. Glynn started his career with TfL as a Trainee Traffic Control Engineer in 2001, after gaining an honours degree in Geography and Management from the University of Liverpool.
