Yunex Traffic design competition raises awareness of road safety among school children

  • Yunex Traffic is working closely with its supply chain partners to help raise awareness of Road Safety Week among primary school children.
  • Through a design competition, children were challenged to create an eye-catching sticker which captures the importance of road safety.
  • The company’s suppliers are supporting the programme by donating valuable equipment to participating schools.

For the second year running, Yunex Traffic is working closely with its supply chain partners to get primary school children thinking about safety.  Through a design competition, the company aims to highlight the importance of road safety, and raise awareness of BRAKE’s national road safety campaign.

The team at Yunex Traffic developed the competition for children attending primary schools which are close to its 14 regional depots, with the pupils encouraged to design a sticker to promote this year’s Road Safety Week.  Teams at each Yunex Traffic depot have now judged all the entries (which this year totalled over 300), and the winning designs have been made into stickers.  Printed by Stewart Signs, the stickers will be displayed on the side of each depot’s vans.

As part of the programme, several suppliers, including Eldridge Electrical Limited, A.D.D. Loop Cutting Services Ltd, Tom Nagy, Road Tech Cutting, Prescott Special Projects Ltd, Lochwynd Ltd, Cable Connections, Renteq, Traffic UK and Chevron South Coast Traffic Management have also donated a range of school equipment, including I-Pads, stationery and sports kit.  Totalling more than £7,000 this equipment is now being distributed amongst the participating schools.
